Hi, I’m Prophet, your little dog influencer in training and the official voice of the Scruffy Sisters. Here I share expert advice about photography, adventures, and the many things humans misunderstand. Grandma supplies the photographic evidence.
Rory and I are turning five today.
We were only one when Dad and Grandma picked us up from the shelter. We were just pups back then, but now we are mature, sophisticated adults.
We had no idea how much responsibility came with owning people.
That’s Dad at the other end of our leashes. Officially, he is leading us.
We prefer to think we are leading him.
You won’t see Grandma, except maybe her shadow. She is the photographer, after all.”
We are celebrating by going to the beach, where we can run to our hearts’ content, followed by snacks, cheese, and extra rotisserie chicken.
The cheese isn’t really a gift. It’s a bribe. Dad and Grandma use it as a pattern interrupt when we are off running and doing something we’re not supposed to do. Like running full speed into the dunes.
We allow them to believe it works. California’s Central Coast has many wonderful beaches, but I believe the one that belongs to us is the very best. It is wide and open and goes on for miles and miles.
When we turn around to go back, we can see Morro Rock. Supposedly, it is an icon, and everybody wants to photograph it.
I don’t really know what an icon is. Maybe it is another word for a volcano. I can picture flames hurtling into the sky from the very top. and ashes spewing all over the place. I’m happy that isn’t happening now. But who knows?
P.S On the way back from the beach, Grandma saw a sign that said: FARM FRESH OYSTERS
“I didn’t know oysters grew on trees,” she laughed.
I think she was joking, because everybody knows oysters come from the ocean.
But maybe not everybody.
Grandma is getting old, after all.
She did take the photo down below. Do you think she forgot?
PHOTO WHISPER:
Photograph the days you want to remember.
Profit has spoken.
